The Jackal Rugby Team:
Position: Owner/ coach
Jayson commenced playing rugby in the Illawarra in 1998 and his passion for improving rugby players and participation commenced with his first coaching assignment in 2003.
Since this time, Jayson has undertaken many coaching courses and clinics, culminating in his current Level two certification. Jayson has a passion to improve his knowledge and impart this on the next generation of rugby players. Jayson has coached Illawarra junior representative teams since 2012.
Jayson has coached senior rugby teams at Woonona Shamrocks and first grade with the Harlequin rugby club.
He is the current head coach of the Australian Police Rugby Union team and has moved to Southern Districts rugby club for 2018.

I work on teaching players how great rugby people behave on and off the field and the benfits of being part of a rugby union community. I created this business to work on improving and increasing player participation within the Illawarra and moving forward, across NSW as it is, the greatest game on earth".

Smart Rugby kids Referee
Aidan has been learning rugby union since he was three years old with the Campbelltown Harlequin rugby club and moving to the Woonona Shamrocks rugby club. He has been a part of Illawarra Rugby Representatives teams and toured New Zealand with the squad in 2015.
Aidan has completed his Smart Rugby training and been refereeing kids rugby since 2016.
He will be helping the Academy coaches with junior clinics with age groups u7's to u10's.
Owen has been invovled in coaching first grade rugby union for the past five years with the Harlequin rugby club. Specialising in the front row and lineouts, he contributes to the engine room of a rugby team.
Owen has moved into coaching junior rugby union since 2012 and has been a regular selector of Illawarra representative junior teams. He has a particular knack of identifying areas to exploit in an opposition team and with this knowledge is able to provide advice to junior and senior players in how to read a game.
Stuart was a successful player at club and representative level, being a member of the Junior and Senior Illawarra representative rugby teams. He also played and captained the Australian Police rugby union team.
Stuart has a great technical understanding of the game of rugby and since recently retiring from playing, has taken on a coaching role with Wollongong Vikings 1st grade.
Stuart was involved in the coaching ranks of the senior Illawarra representative team in 2016, who successfully won a second NSW Country Rugby title.
With his knowledge and passion for rugby, he is a valued member of the team.
